Miniature Spaces

7th and 8th Grade Project

The project began with an introduction to Carmen Mazarrasa, an Artist specializing in tiny homes. The artist example served as inspiration and a jumping off point for students to create their own miniature spaces. Students learned different cardboard folding and attachment techniques through mini lessons, and has access to a variety of materials such as felt, magazines, watercolor, and more. While the majority of students wanted to create a mini replica of their own rooms, some chose to look beyond their own homes to TV shows, stores, and outer space!
